1. What public transport can I use in Barcelona?

The most used and accessible public transport in the city are mainly the following:

  • Metro: One of the cheapest and most accessible methods to move around the city.
  • Bus: With a large fleet of buses that cover each of the different areas of Barcelona and its surroundings, offering continuity to streamline the service as efficiently as possible.
  • Cercanías RENFE: In addition to being a good option to get around each of the main stations in the city, it also makes it easier for you to get to nearby towns.
  • Tram: An option not as recommended as the previous ones. It does not circulate through the main places of the city but it facilitates in certain areas greater mobility and flexibility in the different types of public transport.

3. Types of Barcelona public transport ticket or card

There are different options to choose the type of ticket or transport card and each one has different features and prices. Depending on the use that you are going to give to public transport, established budget, you may be interested in some types of tickets or others. For all those people who come to Barcelona (tourists, travellers, for work reasons, etc.), we provide you with the most recommended and used public transport cards:

 

T-Usual: Personal use card consisting of an unlimited number of trips for 30 days (from its first validation). When buying the card, it is necessary to carry your DNI or equivalent document with you since, when buying the card, you must provide your identity. * It is valid for the metro stations Aeroport T1 and Aeropuerto T2 on line L9 Sud.

T-Casual:

Individual card to make a total of 10 journeys in the respective areas of Barcelona and its surroundings. In the case of the first zone, you have 75 minutes between the first and last validation.

T-Familiar: Multipersonal card with a total of 8 trips and valid for 30 days after validation. Like a T-Casual, you have 75 minutes between your first and last validation.
