Public transport and sustainability in Barcelona

As you well know, public transport and sustainability in Barcelona play a vital role in the evolution and development of the city. It is for this reason that at TheUrbanSuites we want to do our bit and raise awareness of how important it is and what role each of us has in this progress. Unfortunately, the level of contamination in recent years has increased radically. However, provinces, governments and countries have started to identify new threats (in addition to those already existing) and plan new projects in order to improve the environment in the coming years and design areas of greater sustainability. In the case of Barcelona, public transport is fundamental where, in addition to providing us with a wide variety of different types of transport with different lines and routes, they invite us to get un-used to the massive use of private transport and thus progress in a sustainable manner. From our aparthotel in Barcelona we constantly promote sustainable actions in order to achieve the already established projects. In this way, we invite you to be part of a project to improve the environment. Furthermore, we must not forget that each one of us is involved in the development of these actions and what better way than to participate collectively and make this planet a better place. To finish, we want to show you the different types of public transport in Barcelona:

1. Train – Rodalies de Catalunya

Rodalies de Catalunya is a commuter and medium-distance rail service whose commercial brand is currently used by the Generalitat de Catalunya and Renfe Operadora. 3. FGC – Ferrocarriles of the Generalitat of Catalonia

The FGC stands out for being one of the most efficient collective transports at an energy level and emits really low polluting emissions. In addition to having a large fleet and different routes, the waiting times on the platforms are relatively short.

4. Bus – Barcelona Metropolitan Transport

TMB is in charge of offering and managing urban bus services in Barcelona and its services connect with the city and its surroundings. As a curious fact, its seats show one of the main blocks of Barcelona where La Diagonal (one of the largest and most important avenues in Barcelona) is reflected.
